Collaborated with world experts to develop and test ultra-high temperature materials and repair models for shuttle wing leading edges. Researched refractory materials, coatings and structures to develop a shuttle patch kit for use by astronauts for in-orbit repair. Performed rocket exhaust burner rig testing and classification of exposed materials. Built mockup carbon fiber and fiberglass orbiter shuttle panels to demonstrate patch concepts.
