Element 7 is dedicated to new technology development to propel forward advanced manufacturing. Our goal is to introduce revolutionary materials and pair them with new technologies to change industries. Innovative, creative, and driven, we find unique solutions to current technology challenges.

Past projects in the aerospace and defense industry have included: NASA’s Shuttle Return to Flight, Jupiter’s Icy Moons Orbiter, the Venus Project, and hypersonic seal designs.

With our extensive experience in advanced materials, additive manufacturing has become a passion. This has led to the creation of new 3D printers, novel laser sintering technology, and the development of radiation shielding for on-orbit satellite manufacturing systems.

We specialize in the impossible. From concept to project launch, we find novel solutions through use of experimental materials and custom technology.

Some of our past Additive Manufacturing technology projects include:

• Custom Directed Energy Deposition system that prints under reduced atmosphere

• Test bench system to help a client quantify variability in as-received material

• Helped develop and troubleshoot commercial DED machines

• Improve parameter optimization for new metal and polymer printing processes

• Developed commercial FDM printer from concept to production

• Worked with Universities to provide custom 3D printed metal samples for testing and published research
